Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand (L) greets Minami Katsu of Japan (R) after winning the final round of the Buick LPGA Shanghai 2025 at Shanghai Qizhong Garden Golf Club on October 12, 2025 in Shanghai, China.

The sixth edition of the Buick LPGA Shanghai heads to a new venue this week as Sheshan Golf Club prepares to host the $3.20 million event for the first time. While new to the LPGA Tour, the course is no stranger to world-class competition, having previously hosted 14 editions of the WGC-HSBC Champions.
Defending champion Jeeno Thitikul returns to the field following her dramatic victory last year, where she prevailed over Minami Katsu in a grueling five-hole playoff.
Joining the tournament this year are four sponsor exemptions: amateurs Ziyan Meng and Ningyao Xu, alongside LPGA Tour winners Linn Grant and Danielle Kang.
Meng, the 186th-ranked amateur in the world, is set to make her second career start on the LPGA Tour. She previously competed in the 2026 Blue Bay LPGA and has made 12 appearances on the CLPGA. Xu, ranked No. 265 in the world amateur standings, will make her official LPGA Tour debut after making nine starts across the CLPGA and Thai LPGA.
The veteran exemptions bring proven championship pedigree to Shanghai. Grant, currently No. 73 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, is making her tournament debut. A two-time LPGA Tour winner with titles at the 2023 Dana Open and 2025 ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge, Grant has recorded two top-10 finishes and made 10 cuts in 19 starts this season.
Kang enters the week as a major champion and a familiar force at the event. A six-time winner on the LPGA Tour, Kang captured back-to-back Buick LPGA Shanghai titles in 2018 and 2019.
