Tia Martin is in her fourth season as a content producer for the LPGA and currently resides in Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022 with a degree in Journalism where she got her start in golf media covering the Badger men's and women's programs.
The LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei has been on the LPGA Tour's schedule since 2012. The 13 iterations have seen a variety of top champions and a few breakout stars. Get to know the 12 players who have won.
Ai Miyazato won the very first playing of the tournament in 2012 with –12 276. This was the former World No. 1's eighth win of nine total titles on the LPGA Tour. She defeated the field by a solid four strokes.
Suzann Pettersen claimed her first of four titles during the 2013 season at the LOTTE Championship. She ended regulation tied with Lizette Salas at –19 and defeated Salas after one sudden-death playoff hole.
Michelle Wie West claimed the third of her five career titles in her home state of Hawaii in 2014. She defeated the field by two strokes with a –14 274. She went on to win her first and only major just two months later when the U.S. Women's Open was held at Pinehurst No. 2.
2015 rookie Sei Young Kim ended regulation tied with Inbee Park at –11 after chipping in to force the playoff. She then defeated Park after just one playoff hole by holing out from the fairway to take home her second of three titles that season. Her win at LOTTE helped her earn Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year honors.
In just her second season on Tour, Minjee Lee claimed her second career title at the LOTTE Championship in 2016. A final score of –16 272 gave her a one-stroke victory and helped her claim a spot on the 2016 Australian International Crown team later that season.
LPGA great Cristie Kerr defeated In Gee Chun and then World No. 1 Lydia Ko by three strokes in 2017. Her final score of –20 268 saw her claim her most recent of 20 LPGA Tour titles and helped earn her a spot on her ninth U.S. Solheim Cup team.
Brooke Henderson won the event in 2018 by four strokes with a final score of –12 276. She then became the only player to win the LOTTE Championship title twice when she successfully defended in 2019, winning again by four strokes but this time with a final score of –16 272. Later that season she went on to win the Founders Award, an ESPY for Best Female Golfer and became the winningest Canadian golfer, male or female.
The tournament took a pause in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was back on the schedule the following year.
Lydia Ko had the most memorable LOTTE Championship performance en route to her win in 2021. She finished at a staggering 28-under-par for a total of 260 after shooting 67-63-65-65. She won by seven strokes and broke the tournament's low score record by eight strokes. This marked her 16th LPGA Tour win and she went on to win the Founders Award and the Vare Trophy later that season.
Hyo Joo Kim claimed her fifth career win at the LOTTE Championship in 2022, defeating the field by two strokes with a final –11 277.
A 2023 rookie, Grace Kim earned her first LPGA Tour win in Hawaii. She ended regulation in a three-way tie for the lead with Yu Liu and Yu Jin Sung at –12 276. It only took one playoff hole for the young Aussie to claim the title.
A Lim Kim earned a victory at the 2024 playing of the LOTTE Championship by two strokes over the field with a –18 270.
The most recent champion of this event is Youmin Hwang. As a non-member winner, she earned LPGA membership along with the title in Hawaii. She finished with a –17 271, two strokes ahead of fellow countrywoman Hyo Joo Kim. She was the 26th different champion during the 2025 season.
The 2026 tournament at Hoakalei Country Club kicks off Oct. 1.
