Two-time Masters champion Rory McIIroy returns to Delhi Golf Club for the second successive season as one of three reigning Major winners teeing it up in India.
The Northern Irishman completed the career Grand Slam in winning his first Green Jacket in 2025 and went on to become just the fourth player to successfully defend the title back in April. A month later Aaron Rai won his maiden Major at the US PGA Championship and he also tees it up this week alongside Ryan Fox, who joined him in winning a first Major at July's Open Championship.
Justin Rose, winner of the 2013 U.S. Open, 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett, 2018 Green Jacket recipient Patrick Reed and 2019 Open winner Shane Lowry are also in action to make it seven victors from golf's four biggest events.
Reed's fellow two-time winners in 2026 Jayden Schaper, Casey Jarvis and Eugenio Chacarra are also in action along with defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, fellow Ryder Cup star Robert MacIntyre and Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald.
This week represents the penultimate event of the regular season before we head to Korea and there is much to be played for in the battle to win the Race to Dubai, claim places in the DP World Tour Play-Offs, secure playing privileges for 2027 and earn dual membership with the PGA Tour.
At the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World, Reed leads the way with an exciting run-in to the campaign in store. At the end of the Back 9 later this month, the top 70 qualifying players on the Race to Dubai will head to the Play-Offs and battle it out in Abu Dhabi to secure enough points to be among the top 50 available players who advance to Dubai for the season finale, the DP World Tour Championship.
The Genesis Championship in Korea will be the last chance for players to get into the top 100 on the Rankings and secure Category 10 status for 2027 and the ability to play an almost full schedule.
The top ten players not otherwise exempt from the season-long standings after Dubai will earn playing rights stateside next year.
With the battle to be crowned Europe's number one set to go to the wire, any of Reed, Chacarra, McIlroy or Jarvis could end the week on top of the Rankings.
And with a $4 million prize fund at play, valuable Race to Dubai points and Team Europe Ryder Cup qualifying points on offer, it is All to Play For in Delhi.
Tommy Fleetwood became the inaugural DP World India Championship winner 12 months ago as he competed a fairytale year.
Having ended his long wait for a first PGA TOUR title at the Tour Championship to capture the FedExCup in August, the Englishman then played a key role in Europe's historic away Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage Black. Fleetwood soon moved into the top five on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career and then became an eight-time DP World Tour winner after producing a brilliant burst of scoring around the turn at Delhi Golf Club on his way to a closing 65.
That left him at 22 under, two shots clear of Keita Nakajima and able to celebrate on the final green with son Frankie for the first time.
"There's going to be many more times where I hopefully get the chance to do that," he said. "But all day today, I had in my mind could I put myself in a position where I can actually make that moment happen? It's just one of those little things, it means a lot to me. It means so much to me. That was really cool. That's what I wanted to do all day."

It is not just DP World Tour players who could be set for a career-changing week, with the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India Order of Merit being decided on Sunday.
The leading player on that Order of Merit at the conclusion of this week's event will earn a DP World Tour card in Category 17 for the 2027 season.
Saptak Talwar has led the Order of Merit for most of the season and enjoys a commanding lead but he can still be caught by Khalin H Joshi - a four-time winner this season - or Veer Ahlawat.
Ahlawat will be a familiar name to DP World Tour fans, having won the PGTI Order of Merit in 2024 and made 20 appearances on the 2025 Race to Dubai.
Originally established in the 1930s, the Lodhi Championship Course at Delhi Golf Club hosted the inaugural Indian Open in 1964 and was redesigned by Peter Thomson in 1977, with further enhancements by Gary Player Design in 2019.
It was the host for the first DP World Tour event to be held in India, the EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters, and then the venue for the Hero Indian Open in 2015 and 2016.
At just 6,912 yards, it provides a very different test to most venues on Tour and last season, 58 out of the 138-player field (42%) opted to not use a driver.
That included McIlroy, who took out both his driver and three wood and played with a two and three iron. It should be an intirguing week.
