With the Pro-Am commencing in 2001, there have been 24 winners of the Team Competition in the current format of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
As the competition celebrates its 25th edition this year, we take a look back at all the previous winners.
Brett Rumford and Chris Peacock were the first pair to win the Team Championship, while Thorbjorn Olesen and Dermot Desmond were crowned champions in the 2024 contest with a record-breaking total of 48-under-par.
Desmond is one of three repeat winners, having previously won the title alongside Robert Karlsson in 2010. JP McManus also won the Team event on two occasions, both alongside Padraig Harrington, in 2002 and 2006. His son Kieran McManus is the only player amateur or professional to have won three separate times, with Soren Hansen in 2009, Peter Lawrie in 2014, and Jamie Donaldson in 2017.
Continuing the remarkable run of family success at the Home of Golf, there have been two sets of family members to win together. In 2003 Sam Torrance and his son Daniel became the first and only father-and-son duo to win, and twenty years later it was Matt Fitzpatrick and his mum Sue who claimed the Team title together in 2023 as first mother-and-son partnership to achieve success.
Last year, it was Harrison Crowe and Cian Foley who tasted success on 33-under-par, completing their third round at Kingsbarns after the event was reduced to 54-holes.
