Amy Yang of South Korea reacts after sinking a putt on the 16th green during the third round of the Buick LPGA Shanghai 2026 at Sheshan Golf Club on October 17, 2026 in Shanghai, China.
Jennifer Meyer is the Manager of Digital Operations. Jennifer has worked with the LPGA for more than a decade, working with the LPGA and Epson Tours to manage, develop, maintain, and update website content.
Amy Yang relied on a strong putting performance to position herself for a potential victory at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, remaining the only player in the field to record under-par scores in all three rounds.
The six-time LPGA Tour winner carded seven birdies against three bogeys in the third round. Through 54 holes, Yang leads the tournament field with 16 total birdies and ranks second in greens in regulation, hitting 41 of 54 greens.
"I think I putted really well today, even better than yesterday," Yang said after her round. "I made some mistakes in the middle round, but I think I still did a good job overall."
Yang played alongside fellow Korean Hye-Jin Choi during the third round and will pair with her again in Sunday's final grouping.
"She has great energy. It's so nice to see her playing, and I also enjoy playing with her together," Yang said, noting that patience will be crucial heading into the final round. "I need to just be patient, stay focused and do best I can."
A victory on Sunday would mark Yang's seventh career LPGA Tour title and her first since winning the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. She has made 11 cuts in 16 starts this season, which includes a runner-up finish at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.
A win would carry significant milestones for the Republic of Korea native. She would become the first player from Republic of Korea to win the Buick LPGA Shanghai and the fifth Korean winner on Tour this season, joining Mi Hyang Lee, Hyo Joo Kim, Haeran Ryu, and Jenny Shin.
Additionally, a victory would make Yang the 18th unique winner on the LPGA Tour this season while tying her with In-Kyung Kim and Sung Hyun Park for the ninth-most LPGA Tour wins by a Korean player. The triumph would also push her past $1 million in official season earnings and over $17 million in career earnings.
