01최종전 남겨둔 LPGA Q-시리즈, 류원보의 선두 지키기 도전
류원보(Wenbo Liu)가 LPGA 투어 Q-시리즈 퀄리파잉 스테이지 최종 라운드를 앞두고 1타 차 단독 선두에 오르는 기염을 토했다.
대회 내내 안정적인 경기력을 선보인 류원보는 팽팽한 흐름 속에서도 리더보드 최상단 자리를 지켜내며 우승에 한 걸음 더 다가섰다.
단 1타 차로 추격자들을 따돌린 류원보는 치열한 경쟁이 펼쳐질 마지막 날 경기에서 선두 자리를 끝까지 사수해야 하는 과제를 안게 됐다.

China's Wenbo Liu carded a 4-under 68 on Thursday to move to 12-under 204 and take a one-shot lead into the final round of the LPGA Qualifying Series' Qualifying Stage at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. The 198-player field is chasing a top-55-and-ties finish to advance to the Final Qualifying Stage in Mobile, Ala.
Liu, playing the Qualifying Stage for the fourth time, bounced back from a double bogey on No. 18 with a birdie on No. 1, her favorite of the day. A CLPGA Tour winner earlier this year, she credited her improved mental game.
“I think the mental game is very important. For the past three years, my mental game was not good, and this year it is better,” said Liu.
LPGA Tour member Juniper Jang matched Liu's 68 to sit alone in second at 11-under 205. Second-round leader Camille Boyd signed for a 1-under 71 and is third at 10-under 206.
Mexico's Maria Fassi posted the low round among the leaders, a 6-under 66 highlighted by a hole-out eagle, to climb from T21 to fourth at 8-under 208. Fassi opened with a 3-over 75 and said she came into the week with a “scared mindset” on the Panther Course.
“Today I told myself, let's go beat the golf course. This course has beaten me three times, and it was time for me to punch back,” said Fassi. “I started playing a little more aggressively and having faith and belief in my game, and I'm just happy that it showed up.”
