The opening four rounds of DP World Tour Final Stage Qualifying School are held across two courses at INFINITUM, so what does the scoring tell us through the opening two days?
With all 156 players in the field having played both the Lakes and Hills once each, a picture can start to be made about how the challenge they pose compares.
While a familiar venue for some having hosted each of the last seven editions of the six-day marathon, for others it is a new challenge both on and off the course.
After the first 36 holes, Slovakia's Tadeas Tetak - a graduate of Q School in 2024 - leads the way at 14 under, one shot clear of South Korea's Eunshin Park and Jose Luis Ballester of Spain.
Despite a second-round 62 at the Lakes on Saturday to hit the front, Tetak does not hold the low round of the week so far. That is held by Renato Paratore after the Italian carded a 61 over the same course on day two to vault up the leaderboard after a 73 on the Hills.
Despite statistically having the two hardest holes through the first two rounds in the par four 15th and 12th, the Lakes is playing easier.
Of the 36 holes in play, seven of the top ten hardest come from the Hills. Of the 11 holes that are playing over par, according to the Fortinet Threat Score, eight come from the Hills.
Of those who performed the best over the Hills, where the first and ninth holes were redesigned as well as the entire front nine greens and bunkers being re-done, experienced DP World Tour duo Pablo Larrazábal and Edoardo Molinari were among those to have performed best.
Both players, who have 12 DP World Tour wins between them, shot a seven-under-par 65 on Friday and head into Sunday's third round at 11 under - three back of the lead.
In a sign of the challenge posed at the Hills, Oliver Gillberg sat at three under through nine holes of his second round but he dropped 12 shots across his final five holes on the front nine to fall to the bottom of the leaderboard at nine over.
After a re-draw, the top half of the field will now play the Hills on Sunday, with the remaining 78 players teeing it up on the Lakes.
