세계에서 가장 오랜 역사를 자랑하는 메이저 골프 대회인 디 오픈 챔피언십이 제155회 대회를 맞아 '골프의 고향' 스코틀랜드 세인트 앤드루스 올드 코스에서 펼쳐집니다. 대회 주최 측인 R&A는 전 세계 주요 투어를 통해 본선 진출권을 획득할 수 있는 세부 자격 요건과 예선 경로를 공식 발표했습니다.
이번에 확정된 출전 경로에 따라 PGA 투어, DP 월드 투어 등 전 세계 주요 프로 투어의 성적과 세계랭킹 상위권 선수들에게 본선 직행 시드권이 부여됩니다. 또한 글로벌 대회와 연계된 '디 오픈 퀄리파잉 시리즈(Open Qualifying Series)'를 통해 각 대회 상위 입상자들에게도 출전 티켓이 배정됩니다.
역사와 전통을 자랑하는 세인트 앤드루스 올드 코스에서 열리는 대회인 만큼, 전 세계 출전권이 걸린 각국 예선전에서 메이저 티켓을 확보하기 위한 선수들의 치열한 경쟁이 펼쳐질 전망입니다.

Each year, international pathways are provided for players to qualify for golf’s original Championship through professional tour events played around the world.
The Open Qualifying Series will provide opportunities for players to qualify for The 155th Open through 19 events in 15 countries being played on the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, DP World Tour, Asian Tour, KPGA Tour, Japan Golf Tour, Sunshine Tour and Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia.

Exemption categories are also reviewed and updated annually to ensure that places awarded in The Open reflect results achieved by golfers on the professional tours. The exemption for the LIV Golf Order of Merit remains under review until the 2027 LIV Golf schedule is confirmed.

The road to St Andrews will begin with the FedEx Open de France at Le Golf National this week, followed by the Open de España presented by Madrid, the Japan Open Golf Championship and the Link Hong Kong Open in October.
The Capital.com Australian Open will offer three places in December, while the 106th New Zealand Open presented by Millbrook and an event in Argentina to be confirmed at a later date will provide further opportunities in February. Three places will also be available at the Investec South African Open Championship in March.
In North America, places will be available via the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and the RBC Canadian Open, while the John Deere Classic will also offer a place in July.
The Deutsche Bank Singapore Open, KOLON Korea Open and Mizuno Open will offer further opportunities for golfers to qualify in Asia-Pacific.
In Europe, the Amgen Irish Open and the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club will provide two of the final opportunities for golfers aiming to book their place at St Andrews.
Regional and Final Qualifying events, which are open to professional and amateur golfers worldwide who meet the entry criteria, will take place at venues around Great Britain and Ireland in June ahead of the Championship. Final Qualifying will be played at Burnham & Berrow, Glasgow Gailes, Prince’s and West Lancashire on 29 June.
The Last-Chance Qualifier will be played at St Andrews on Monday 12 July. The field of players competing for the final place in the Championship will be determined using an approach which complements the existing qualification criteria for The Open.
